We pride ourselves in providing a warm, relaxed and comfortable atmosphere so all you need to do is enjoy some fantastic waves.
We are Barbara and Walter Channels. We discovered Playa La Saladita in the early 1990s. The surf was so perfect that Walter, along with local surf icon, Timmy Dorsey, and other friends from Huntington Beach and Long Beach, California leased property from the local Valencia family and built the original five bungalows by the break. Since then, our little community has grown.
We fell in love with the people and culture of Mexico, the beautiful town of Zihuatanejo, and our small community in Playa La Saladita. In 1999/2000, we purchased a lot and over the years have built a home here. We have been fortunate enough to meet and make friends with people from around the globe who come here on vacation to surf or have built homes here.
Our home design is inspired by Mexico and also from travelling to Granada, Spain. It is decorated with handpainted tile from Puebla, Mexico and different pieces of art from traveling around Mexico or from local artisans. It has been a long labor of love.
What we enjoy most is opening our home to new friends and welcoming old ones. We aspire to provide a safe, comfortable, home away from home for our guests/friends. A place to relax and enjoy the long Saladita days.
